National Poetry Month- Foundlings and Wonderments Poem #10- Story

It's late Sunday night and I don't have a lot of gas left in the tank after a full and busy weekend- dog classes, dog training with Galaxy, a Rockies game, church, and the theater.  At the theater, I was thinking about how much I love stories, and how I remember and hold onto them. Thus came this night's etheree (ten lines, starting with one syllable and working up to ten).

"Story"

truth

kindness

compassion,

understanding

bloom when presented

in context of stories–

those people who are immersed

in life-giving streams of stories

grow bigger, stronger, kinder heart-brains

All people should have lives filled with stories.

It's one I'm so happy you wrote about, Carol. I love how the etheree gave you a build-up to celebrating stories, important in everyone's lives! I love how that final line fit so beautifully! Have a great week!

And just think of the gift you give to kids when you teach and encourage them to write. You hare helping them build bigger, better lives. Through story.

Oh, the power of story. Maybe we need story time when world leaders gather. Stories and cookies! They might make a difference.
