I am not a cad.
I just have several girlfriends.
Adrianna is my morning girl.
She comes
to play with me
before school
every day.
She throws the ball.
We tug of war.
She gives me cuddles
and belly rubs.
I love my Adrianna.
Miss Nina has my afternoons.
I lay in Mama’s door
and listen for her cart.
I love to steal her keys
And race up and down the hall.
Come get me.
Play with me.
She just laughs.
Miss Nina brings me presents.
I love Miss Nina.
Miss Mary is my weekend girl.
She lives at Grandma’s place.
She’s ninety-five.
So I take good care of her.
We don’t play hard.
I sit nicely
And she gives me milk bones.
I’m not actually supposed to have milk bones,
Allergies, you know
But mama says
once in a while
milk bones are ok.
I love Miss Mary.
Mama says I’m a cad.
I think she’s just jealous.
Doesn’t she know she’s my best girl?
