Having so many wonderings about what this country is coming to - not from a political standpoint, but from a social standpoint. How parents grow so far from their children that even they don't know when their children are lost. How neighbors don't know one another. How people are hurting and nobody knows, and I wonder if anybody cares? Sad... such sadness.jenb.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02474903426683085763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724394291330902141.post-21163138181206897562012-07-25T08:22:52.904-06:002012-07-25T08:22:52.904-06:00Your eloquent words so moved me. Here it is.

Thank you for thinking about the victims and their families, but also thank you for sharing your thoughts about the perpetrator. Anger and 'why' come to mind, but it is always deeper. In some ways I'm surprised he did not kill himself, so will we learn more? Will we understand? Will it ever make sense?

Probably not. But your connection back to the classroom and the little things we can say and do make a difference. I, too, have been thinking about this young man and his parents - so many people have lost. So much in the span of just a few minutes....and yet, as you point out, this was months in the planning, and no one seems to have had a clue, or reached out, or even been aware. In this age of being able to connect to anybody and everybody at a moment's notice, we seem more disconnected than ever. And yet....we must try to do better, to reach out to each other more, and to teach our kids to do the same.Tara @ A Teaching Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07195982194362559883noreply@blogger.com
