May he continue to be moved to do more. <br />I read an article recently about an African American woman who went to China and found that many people there stared at her. She thought they were as curious about her as she was about them, and wasn't offended because she didn't equate curiosity with disapproval, which probably improved her trip a lot. I think curiosity can be pretty rough on differently-abled folks also; they get tired of it, although people can't help noticing. I hope your son is able to navigate the world in comfort, no matter where he is.Tabathahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14367572663591077922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724394291330902141.post-90961093037506279972014-12-09T21:54:25.078-07:002014-12-09T21:54:25.078-07:00A moving slice ... that will hopefully move our wo...A moving slice ... that will hopefully move our world forward without silence or judgement. It "is" more than words, & I hope these recent events will teach us to be better.Linda Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14983144542632353870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724394291330902141.post-75089057604109175092014-12-09T14:56:36.063-07:002014-12-09T14:56:36.063-07:00Carol, such a touching piece. I think now, though, the lid is off the anger - and the mask is off of society's face. We are beginning to see ourselves as we really are - maybe this time, change will finally begin to move faster.Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13626451110946889157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7724394291330902141.post-1604452696202156362014-12-09T08:02:03.173-07:002014-12-09T08:02:03.173-07:00Your son sounds like a wonderful "man child&q...Your son sounds like a wonderful "man child" and a beautiful person. Just the kind of person we need more of in this world. I can't pretend to know his struggles or his perception of the world, but I hope it eases his heart just a little to know that the person behind the counter definitely couldn't spell his name right - no matter what color he was. :) A bad speller is a bad speller.
